Insider information about Aboriginal, Asian and Western art
December 2020
This year has been a dark year for so many and in so many ways. I hope that you have been able to survive it without too many problems, particularly no health issues.
I have chosen Autumnal Sunset by John Noble Barlow (England, 1861–1917) to represent how I feel. A mother and her child, looking out onto the setting sun, optimistic as to what tomorrow will bring. Their backs in the shadows of the disappearing day, the past, whilst they face the light and the brightness offered by tomorrow.
I hope 2021 brings us all back into the light and brightness.
